Welcome Back

Welcome back to school.
Hope you were up early this morning and ready to get back to school.

I have been wondering what you got up to over the holidays.
I know they went really fast.

I had a busy holiday with swimming lessons, playing at the park, seeing friends, going to Auckland and then back at school getting ready for Term 2.'

What did you do over the holidays?

Life in a Trench

Yesterday we had fun doing our work in our "trenches" as we learn about life as a soldier and ANZAC.

Here are some photos of you working in there.

Describe what you learnt about living in a trench and what you have learn this week about ANZAC.  Remember that all sentences start with a capital letter and end with a full stop.
Your sentence must have a verb and a noun, and if describing you need to include an adjective and an adverb if you can.

ANZAC Day

Good Morning
This week we will be looking at ANZAC Day and what it means to us.

On Friday we talked about some of the things we knew already about ANZAC.
Some of us had some questions about ANZAC and war.

What other questions and wonderings do you have about ANZAC and why it is such a special day for us all.

Remember questions make us think and based on something we really want to know.

We will be sharing these this morning.

Feeling Proud

Morning Room 9
Yesterday was our turn to present the Kauri Team Whanau Time.

When we were preparing for our assembly we talked about what values we would need to show and decided we would be showing:
* Excellence
* Respect
* Responsibility

We also talked about having pride and mana in ourselves as learners and a clas.

I was SUPER PROUD of how you all worked together and showed all those values we discussed. There were a few bumps along the way but we worked at it to present a great assembly.

It also took courage to get up and talk in front of all those people.

So, think about yourself and what were you proud of in our assembly? Or what did you have to work hard to overcome?
